Land use recommendation for 120 acre farm in Ray county Missouri?

Our 120 acre plot of land will be coming out of CRP this Fall in Ray country Missouri. The state currently pays CRP $65/acre for us not to do anything with 40 of the acres and it can be renewed for another 4 years. 50 acres is dense woods.

I’d like to explore some other possibilities of what to do with the land…all or some. I’m hoping to get a return of greater than $100/acre if possible.

The soil is Missouri soil grade 4-8.

I’d be open to various crops, hay, renting out for crops, hunting trips, etc but have no idea how much any of it would be worth and what the best types of crops would be for the type of soil, climate etc. My neighbor believes it’s only good for hay.

I don’t think you can get good advice for that on here. You should be talking to local farmers or a local soil conservation district.
