Only in America – I remember reading that one of the first things Clint Eastwood ( or was it Sonny Bono?) did when he became Mayor of Carmel was to get some of these very old laws repealed, like it was illegal to eat an ice cream on the street.

Most of these laws were intended for the good and welfare of our citizens. Unfortunately, by the time it came to put them in writing them morons did not know how to word the laws to make sense of them. It looks like we have Freedom From Literacy,as well as , Freedom From Religion.and apparently Our Legal Consultant (Hillary Clinton) and our Consultant for the welfare of the US /citizens (Richard Simmons) did the actual and wording and writing of the these laws. Just can't wait for The new and improved ones to be substituted. Like it will be unlawful for the US Citizens to walk the streets at high noon or park your horse on the right side of the street. If it were not so frightening , it would be funny.

For those of you who don't live in the US, most of these are laws that were put on the books many decades, perhaps a century or more ago, and have just never been removed.
